Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
Level 1+
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

Just tested can confirm B/B UBV & H/P Infected Squirrel work and roughly 1k or so XP to level pet.

3 tries 3 fails - either i have bad RNG or i do someting wrong - or the mechanics have changed :( (edited)

Level1pet wrote on 2018-08-01 02:30:42

Just tried this, but the level pet did not get any XP. Did 8.0 change the mechanic of XP being granted to pets that did not participate if the other pets are dead?

Dominia wrote on 2018-08-22 13:50:03

I just did this today and got xp one my level pet (did not attack during battle and was last pet standing) after the others died.

Found this strat on Wowhead - worked beautifully the first time!

Yu'la 1, 2, 1 (mine is P/S)
Emmigosa 1, 2, 1 (mine is P/S)
Nexus Whelpling 1, 2, 2 (went with P/P here)

Start with Yu'la
1 - Lift Off
2 - Breath
3 - Celestial Blessing
4 - Swap to Emmisgosa
5 - Wild Magic
6 - Claw
6 - Claw
7 - Surge of Power, Emmigosa dies
8 - Nexus Whelping - Arcane Storm
9 - Mana Surge
Win.

Sorry wrong strategy :)

Daedrynn wrote on 2017-08-30 04:20:42

This is definitely written wrong. Corpse Explosion kills your squirrel, so that move has to go last. It should read:

Turn 1 Curse of Doom
Turn 2 Unholy Ascension
Bring in your Infected Squirrel
Turn 1 Creeping Fungus
Turns 2-4 Stampede
Turn 5 Corpse Explosion - Squirrel dies and your level pet gets all XP

Meanie wrote on 2017-08-31 10:18:51

Worked well even with lvl 23 Squirrel

I made a TD script out of this strategy. The script works as it should, but the strategy is somewhat flawed. First time I tested it Bloat died from the DoT Creeping Fungus. Hence, didn't give my lvl pet any XP. 2nd time it worked as planed (but no XP since it was 2nd time I did the fight that day). (note! My Infected Squirrel is H/P and my Unborn Val'kyr is H/H. I don't know if that changes anything.)

if [self(#1).dead]
change(#2)
endif

if [self(#1).active]
ability(Curse of Doom:218) [self.round=1]
ability(Unholy Ascension:321) [self.round=2]
endif

if [self(#2).active]
ability(Creeping Fungus:743) [self.round=1]
ability(Stampede:163) [self.round=2]
ability(Corpse Explosion:663)
endif

Adenoth wrote on 2017-10-20 14:01:55

I didn't have a squirrel so I went with a Zandalari Anklerender, Black Claw + Hunting Party did the trick as always

Marco wrote on 2017-08-31 07:01:55

Not worth lvling pets here, 392xp for a lvl 1 pet with sausage and hat. :(

Polo wrote on 2017-10-20 11:05:35

All legendary beast fights are like that.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-28 22:13:04

Turn 1: Dazzling Dance + Foxling dies
Zandalari Kneebiter comes in
Turn 2:Black Claw
Turn 3+ Hunting party.

Done.

Kneebiter was destruction 276 speed.

MolsonofAle wrote on 2017-08-29 17:43:22

Mech Pandaren Dragonling Decoy
Swap to Zandalari anklerender Black claw Hunting party and was done.

jak3676 wrote on 2017-09-16 22:08:25

^ this! worked great and used "common" pets

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-02 19:02:57

You can replace Infected Squirrel with Blighted Squirrel (2,whatever,2) and use Woodchipper instead of Creeping Fungus.

Aelfraed wrote on 2017-08-30 02:09:13

err, should it be fungus then stampede then explosion?

Aub wrote on 2017-08-29 17:49:15

For some reason during live, with all the Argus pets that have "Antaen Cannon" and use it round 1, when you cast Unholy Ascension, it's a 100% miss chance, even though it's supposed to always hit.

solitha wrote on 2017-08-30 00:33:40

IIRC it's a known thing that if you use that skill when your UV is immortal, even her own skill won't kill her... and thus doesn't hit the target either.
