PET NEWS - BY DRAGONSAFTERDARK
The time has come, once again, to level all your pets!

Tuesday reset brings the pet battle bonus week, and The Sign of the Critter offers a 200% increase on pet experience, so it's the perfect time to tackle that queue.

1. Repeatable Tamers

If you'd like to know what repeatable trainers to look out for this week, head over to our Powerleveling Guide to find out which ones are great for maximizing the use of the bonus xp. It will also offer the top leveling strategies for each of the fights, tips & tricks, and links to non-repeatable tamers as well as other useful guides.

Our new widget on the home page will let you know which repeatable Legion tamers are up for the day!

Also, keep an eye out for strategies that have the Level tags for the regular, non-repeatable fights. Every little bit counts!

2. Thursday August 26th Super Squirt for American & Oceanic Realms!

Super Squirt is one of those magical days during pet battle bonus week where Squirt is up in your WoD garrison menagerie, and it offers a useful, repeatable battle that does very well in leveling your pets, and has a nearby free heal. Here's where you can find all our Squirt Strats.

Though much emphasis is placed on Super Squirt, there are plenty of viable leveling fights from the repeatable tamers listed in the Powerleveling Guide. If you don't have your garrison up to par for Squirt, you'll likely still get a fair few tamers that will do nicely in Squirt's stead.

We wish you the best of luck in leveling your pets, and hope you have a happy battling week!

The home page is showing Super Squirt is up on the 4th September for EU, I don't think this is correct as that week is not a pet week.

Super Squirt has nothing to do with the pet week. She is a pet trainer in your garrison that appears every 15 days.

"Super Squirt" is what we call the day when Squirt appears during a pet week. (edited)

i would stick to legion trainers. they give decent exp for alts. At this point if you do one polished pet charm WQ you get enough to buy 75 bandages.

Edit: Durian was the exception not the rule. My low level alts can use the trainers even if they aren't 45 and I have no reason to disbelieve the poster you indicated you could start leveling at level 1.

As far as I can tell, you need to be at least level 45 to use Legion pet battles for alt leveling. I sent my level 34 alt there in hopes of leveling both her and my pets but WQs aren't open for her. (edited)

You can use them already with level 1, as long as you can get there (e.g. with mage portal).
I can confirm this 100%, because I have used it many times myself.

The only exception to this is Andurs/Rydyr, because they are not normally repeatable like the others, but you sort of use the world quest but don't complete it by defeating just one of them. And Durian, which can generally only be repeated with trial characters.

So with your level 1 characters, were you able to see the World Quests? Or were you simply able to fight them even without the WQ? Durian is up today and he's the one I'm not having any luck with but hopefully he's an exception.

Durian is only repeatable with trial characters, and I'm not sure if he works the same as the normal repeatable tamers, but you don't have to see the WQs to have access to the NPCs. I like having them in Dalaran, (when a Dalaran tamer is up), because you can put warmode on without getting chomped. (edited)

It probably isn't worthwhile at lower levels as its a scaled 5% exp, not a flat value. It is a very efficient way to passively level from 55-60. Andurs/Rydr being the best as your character receives the full 5% not the scaled down version like your pet. Rydr coming out ahead due to the top strat being 10sec quicker. Especially if you have TD Scripts & Ultrasquirt active. You literally just hit spacebar countless times.

You do realize that these events only line up a couple times a year? So you can watch netflix, stand in one place and spam the space bar. 1-25 in 2 battles if you have a lesser pet treat buff OR the safari hat?

Your suggestion could be the best way 363 days a year, but for the other 2 days this is it, lol.

There are tamers that are defeated even faster than Squirt (Odrogg, Galveston, Robert Craig, Tiffany Nelson) and yes, I too would advise preferring those if Squirt and those tamers were active at the same time. Simply because you level faster than with Squirt AND you can also level your character. If you have enough bandages (and most should), Squirt has only one advantage: you know the days in advance and can thus plan. Otherwise, the many Legion tamers are clearly the better choice.
