  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

High XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
RNG
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

Beautiful. I accidentally did not select stone skin for my Feline familiar so just skipped that step and still won.

I used Summit Kid (212), Twilight Spider (222), Thaumaturgical Piglet (222). This was a mix of this main strategy (which failed for me) and some of the folks' comments. When I put these together and basically followed their steps, it worked great. (Chew, Stampede -->Poison Spit, Brittle Webbing, Swarm, Poison Spit, Swarm, Arcane Dash.

Prowl + Call Darkness with the Feline Familiar took a lot of RNG out of this, I think. Got it (and my Nightmare Treant, finally) on the first try.

ArcticDragon#1821

wrote on 2023-03-08 08:22:26

It is definitely RNG based but I got it on my 3rd try using Volcano with Cinder Pup so 2, 2, 1. I also substituted with Argi

WARNING there's something that turns your first pet into an Undead. I thought I had picked the wrong pet for the Beast team so I forfeited. It happened again. I didn't notice what caused it but, yeah, don't forfeit :P

Feline familiar one shots feathyr with prowl + call darkness. no reason to stoneskin and use multiple onyx bites

JohnLocke

wrote on 2020-11-12 13:10:43

I took Volcano for Cinder pup as 3rd ability. It was useful, as Crouch was not up when Fethyr took off and allowed me to place additionnal passive damage instead. Anyway, worked 1st try in SL.

Bruman#1853

wrote on 2020-10-20 18:51:43

Worked first time in SL pp for me - although my Summit Kid survived for 1 round into the second fight, I just let him die then continued on like normal.

Steebadin#1796

Terrible strat, sorry. Cinder pup is blinded and misses Flame Breaths, dying very fast.

Berendain

2,2,2 Infernal Pyreclaw works as a great replacement for Cinder Pup if you don't have one leveled.

If you take volcano on the cinder pup then you can pop that up the turn the Fethyr comes in to make the last part a little easier

Vicious Broodling (211) / twilight spider (222) / bucktooth flapper (122)

skitter first then burrow
drain blood when the guide becomes the living dead (works 90%)

poison spit - brittle webbing - swarm-(spit if quil isnt dead)

pass -poison -webbing

tail- tail -chew -tail

*works 100% of the time 50% of the time

Snafu

Good call on the flapper for 3rd pet. Work great

FoxyProxy wrote on 2019-08-27 09:11:17

Argi also works for the first slot with Chew and stampede. Because I have THAT leveled, but not my summit kid or LBR

Anonymous wrote on 2017-07-24 05:27:39

I'm sure I read it somewhere but it's not on this page here, so I'd add that Thaumaturgical Piglet is amazing for the Bredda's last pet, Fethyr, if you choose the magical attacks that are strong versus flying (2,x,2)

Oona

wrote on 2018-06-24 12:56:33

I'm sure there's still RNG, but this totally workd for me.

Tie wrote on 2017-05-19 17:20:39

This is kinda RNG dependent. But it only took me 3 tries to get it. I used both Zandalari anklerender and kneebiter with black claw and haunting party as well as the feline familiar. Anklerender (black claw, haunting party) will die with first pet. Bring in the kneebiter use black claw, haunting party. Depending on RNG is how this will pan out. If your kneebiter lasts through this entire pet phase then cast in black claw on Fethyr. your speed is higher so u will hit before he does his lift off. then I just followed the rest of the strat above with stoneskin, prowl and Onyx bite.

Frizzlsnits

wrote on 2017-11-26 15:07:42

This worked first try, with pets I already had maxxed. Thanks!

Avalee#2761

Used Leatherhide Runt for 3rd pet. Used Stampede to kill it easily.

Van wrote on 2017-01-25 23:20:52

I didn't have the cinder pup and none of the other ideas worked again Quillino, so i tried Zao 2 1 2 and that worked first try.

TimboAZ

wrote on 2018-01-03 14:32:34

Thanks, Zao worked for me too.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-10-14 13:01:39

I switched Cinder Pup to Devouring Maggot (2/2/1) first Leap and then alternating with Consume, it almost kills Quillino and then finish it off with Feline Familiar and continue with the tactics.

Inovan wrote on 2017-08-21 14:25:46

I don't have Feline Familiar, but Xu-Fu (1/2/2) works great in the third slot. Prowl, then Moonfire one-shotted Fethyr.

MolsonofAle wrote on 2017-07-24 16:59:35

I don't have the familiar so I tried with a few different pets for the 3rd,no luck. Tried a mix of strats listed here. Kept Kid in 1st slot,Kneebiter in 2nd (2,2,2) and Ashana in 3rd (1,1,1).
Moonfire, rake(might should have used rake first, was close) claw till moonfire ready again. Worked 1st try.
Thanks for the site and everyone for all the posts. Makes this a whole lot less frustrating.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-01-31 20:10:38

RNG dependent. If Cinder Pup gets blinded and misses a Flame Breath, he will die before Quillino.

neon wrote on 2017-04-25 17:47:40

If Cinder dies before quillino then stoneskin with feline, bite to kill quill, when least enemy comes in you prowl, then stoneskin again since he will be in the air, then attack until hes dead. Worked for me first time. RNG might have been in my favor, but its worth it to keep going if cinder dies before quill.

Sopherra wrote on 2016-12-30 16:54:35

Don't have Xu-Fu or Cinder Pup leveled yet, so replaced middle with a rare Ash Spiderling. First skill doesn't really matter, just have Brittle Webbing and Spiderling Swarm. Use Brittle Webbing first then Spiderling Swarm. Should kill Quillino. I just kept doing Brittle Webbing on Fethyr until Spiderling died.

Manda wrote on 2017-03-24 14:56:11

I was able to use Xu-Fu's strategy combined with Sopherra's here, and I too was on the Bloodgazer Team Rumble quest. I started out with Summit Kid (only Uncommon quality) and I'll be honest, I don't know exactly what was happening with all the turns, it was a quick blur, but just know that using Chew and then Stampede did indeed take out Lil' Spirit Guide at the same time as Summit Kid. I took Sulpherra's advice with a rare Vicious Broodling next, same strategy, Brittle Webbing then Spiderling Swarm, which has the unreasonable 4 round cooldown. From there I was able to keep using Skitter until Quillino was out, taking my Broodling with it through some lingering effect, (sorry, I didn't see what.) Which left Fethyr and my Bloodgazer Hatchling. I used Falcosaur Swarm. Slicing Wind, and Predatory Strike, defeating Fethyr. My Bloodgazer still had 1232/1400 health and looked entirely too smug next to the two fainted pets on the team. >_>

Healboy wrote on 2017-01-25 20:56:32

For Bloodgazer Hatchling quest (win w/2 beasts) I used this strat as a template with all different pets for a first try win.
Zandalari Anklerenderer [2,?,2] (same result as Summit Kid); Dreadmaw (my Fel Pup is lvl 1) [2,2,2]; Bloodgazer Hatchling [1,1,2]
> Zandalari Anklerenderer > Black Claw > Hunting Party > Pass (both dead)
> Dreadmaw > Burrow > Flame Breath > Deep Burn (Quillino dead)
- Unless Burrow is up Dreadmaw is dead on next hit otherwise burrow and Flame Breath until dead
> Bloodgazer Hatchling > Warning Squak > Falcosaur Swarm! > Slicing Wind > Slicing Wind (Fethyr dead)
Result: 1st try win and credit towards quest

Anonymous wrote on 2017-02-08 02:08:47

Bloodgaze hatchling is not beast.

Druidllama wrote on 2017-02-08 10:37:39

No ... but there is a quest to do the WQ with Bloodgazer Hatchling and 2 beasts - and that uses almost same strat as this

Ellen Kay wrote on 2017-02-15 13:44:20

summit kid (212), icespine hatchling (211), and crystalline broodling (211).

SDC wrote on 2017-01-15 12:43:57

I used Xu-Fu as the third pet on this strat because I didn't have a leveled Feline Familiar - time it so that you can howl with Cinder Pup before it dies, then hit with Xu-Fu's moonlight ability while Howl is still active. One-shotted the bird.

gent wrote on 2017-01-08 16:43:20

Vengeful Porcupette in place of Feline Familiar works great too. Use Spirit Spikes 1st move Powerball 2nd move and Fethyr is dead.

Anonymous wrote on 2016-12-30 10:42:20

If your Cinder Pup survives until it can soak Fethyr's Lift Off (depends on whether it hits while blinded, assuming no crits from either side), you can use Xu-Fu instead of Feline Familiar. Xu-Fu can oneshot Fethyr with Prowl + Moonfire.

SUNFUR PANDA!! 2/2/2 Cinder Pup 2/2/2 Young Talbuk 2/2/1 or any other beast for 3rd slot

SUNFUR PANDA!! wrecks this fight
Keep buffs- Crouch -> Cute Face -> Spam Scratch, with some good RNG u can even kill two pets with this PANDA! after it s dead, switch to

Cinder Pup

finish Magical pet with Flame Breath

vs Bird- Crouch when he uses Lift-Off -> Howl -> Flame Breath till bird is dead

If its not dead, bring Young Talbuk

Tough n Cuddly when bird flies up, then Stampede

PS: u dont need Talbuk as 3rd pet, i used it for safety dmg reduction. Bring any u want (thanks to panda u can even try to level some pet) ^^

The posted strat due to RNG wasn't working for me so I did something a little different.
First pet was perfect, the Kid, posted strat was perfect. On the second pet, I used a Zandalari Anklerender (2/1/2); with some luck he'll catch the edge of the Kid's damage debuff and eat through Quillino. For the last pet, I went with Moon Moon (1/1/1) - As long as RNG doesn't stack against you and Fethyr doesn't crit several times on his no CD attack, this is guaranteed. Moon Tears, Howl and then Moon Fang and Fethyr should be dead.

I didn't have the pup levelled so Zandalari killed second pet with ease.

Thanks! I didn't have the Cinder Pup leveled either but the Anklerender worked great!

Hey,

Vengeful Porcupette (2-1-/) saved my ass here. Used this strat that worked every time Xu Fu made it to Fethyr:

Zandalari Anklebender (2-1-2)
Black Claw
Hunting Party
Leap (both Pet's die here)

Quillino enters - bring in Xu-Fu

Xu-Fu (2-2-1)
Prowl
Feed
Spirit Claws until Quillino is dead - it is important Xu-Fu doesn't die here to take lift-off from Fethyr

Fethyr comes in

Feed if possible, otherwise Spirit Claws- Xu-Fu most likely dies here
Bring in Vengeful Porcupette (2-1-/)
If Fethyr is going to heal this round: Powerball
If Fethyr has CD on lift off and heal: Spirit Spikes

Fethyr literally kills himself on the spikes :)

Xu-Fu's mov-set is 1-1-2. Also, not a simple strategy - my Xu-Fu dies to the 2nd pet repeatedly.

Isiliel wrote on 2016-10-11 04:43:26

True, Xu-Fu is 1-1-2 as you wrote.
Don't know why but I tried this for five times, brought him through in 4. If he dies in 2nd round Porcupett needs to get to do Powerball three times, then Spirit Spikes and it worked for me nevertheless (if still alive) guess it should not get crit's here.
Just postet it for those People, who didn't have the originally used pet's levelled.

And as seen: Bredda is nevertheless always a rng thing :(

strat that rely on a 80% move hitting atleast 3 times in a row at terribly unrelyable

Some RNG factors indeed, but a strategy including Xu-Fu? How could I say no to that :-)

Daedrynn wrote on 2016-10-11 03:31:49

The suggested strat worked great for me. Thank you!

Melandroso wrote on 2016-10-10 01:47:48

Listed strategy was perfect for me. Cinder Pup has more survivability than Xu-Fu and Feline just made it.

This didn't work for me. Mabye bad RNG I guess.

Jeack wrote on 2016-09-13 01:35:53

Cinder pup can be replaced by xu-fu (which I've done on all fights requiring cinder pup)

Lamplighter wrote on 2016-09-27 04:35:34

and how do you use xu-fu in place of cinder pup?

Detholis wrote on 2016-09-27 03:00:59

I didn't have Feline Familiar leveled. I swapped out Xu-fu for the Feline with 2-2-2. Prowl when lift off is off CD and then moon fire. Bite if needed
