Substitutes:

Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

5 round speed kill could do leveling with it but an explode pet would be better for that as shown in Shenks strat

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!

Definitely not a leveling strat any more... my fully-leveled third pet almost died and I was very lucky to have a powerful skill to use.

Emmigosa died to a critical hit in round 8 after 4 Breath attacks did not kill Nightmare. My random third was a flyer who got hit hard by Void Crash (strong, not critical).

For pre-patch you'll need more than 2 Breaths. Other than that, it worked just fine.

This strat works really well. :) I did get crit by Nightmare on Ikky at one point, but as long as you're not unlucky enough to get crit by Nightmare *and* the Chaos Beam, you should be fine.

I was curious, so I looked at some power/alternative moves on the pets in slot 2.

For dragonkin pets with <276 power and Breath, you'll need 3 Breaths (if you don't get a crit) to finish Retinus off.

Tail Sweep guarantees, even at 260 power, that you'll only need 2 rounds to finish Retinus off. Tail Sweep gets a bonus when it's slower, so it works great here when faced with Retinus' 399 speed.

Opening slot #2 up to pets with Flame Breath also works really well. Here's what I saw:

-- Non-Dragonkin & Non-Beast pets with >288 power will get it done in two rounds.

-- Dragonkin pets (except breeds with 244 power) will get it done in 2 rounds

-- Beast pets also work well here, because of the DoT & Beast racial. To account for at least one Chaos Beam crit, you'll want a beast with greater than 1275 hp.
